Abstract
803,731. Radial cylinder pumps. CITROEN S.A., A. April 15, 1955 [April 17, 1954 ; March 28, 1955], No. 10979/55. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] Pistons 11 of a radial cylinder pump are actuated by rockers 9 pivoted on the cylinder block 1 at one end and engaging a cam track 13 at the other and engaging the pistons 11 at an intermediate point with an interposed ball 10 or push rod. The cylinders 2 are closed by a core 3 having ports 17, 18 communicating with the cylinder and conical faces 4, 5 engaged by distributing valves 15, 16 having ports 17<SP>1</SP>, 18<SP>1</SP> communicating with inlet and outlet passages 19, 20. The valves 15, 16 are held in contact with the faces 4, 5 by liquid pressure which passes through an orifice 100 into a chamber 21 having mutually slidable walls one of which is connected to the valve 16 and the other to the valve 15. The valve 16 is angularly adjustable by means of a pressure responsive piston to vary the timing of port opening. A feed pump 28 is driven from the drive shaft 32 through bevel gears.
