Abstract
738,906. Reciprocating pumps. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES S.I.A.M. June 30, 1953 [Aug. 14, 1952], No. 18170/53. Class 102 (1). In a reciprocating pump, a piston 12 controls the inlet port 13a and delivers through a valve 16 the amount being controlled by varying the amount permitted to flow through the axial bore 111 and groove 113, in the piston, to the spill ports 110 in the cylinder. The number of ports 110 that are open is controlled by a sleeve 19 adjusted by a spring-loaded member subjected to the pressure beyond the delivery valve. In Fig. 2 is shown a multi-cylinder pump in which the pistons are actuated by a swash plate 35 ; a second plate 45 is mounted on a head 41 and loaded by a spring 44. The regulating sleeves 19 are actuated by a flange 50 on a cylinder 49, loaded by a spring 51 and subjected to the delivery pressure through passages 46, 47, 48.
