Abstract
926,110. Swash-plate pumps. INTEGRAL Ltd. June 21, 1961 [July 18, 1960], No. 24971/60. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A variable delivery hydraulic pump comprises a number of pump plungers 3 each of which reciprocates in a cylinder 2, a servo piston 16 for controlling the delivery of the pump and which is subject at one side to the delivery of the pump and at the other side to the pressure in a control conduit 19 permitting of restricted flow to the servo piston of liquid discharged by the pump, an outlet 190 controlled by a biased control valve 21 subject to the hydraulic pressure in the control conduit and moving to increase and decrease the area of the outlet in response respectively to increase and decrease in said hydraulic pressure, and means 17 for biasing the servo piston against the hydraulic pressure difference across it, means 13 controlled by the servo piston adjusting the effective area of the inlets to the cylinders to alter the delivery of the pump in response to requirements of the system supplied. A separate by-pass flow for cooling the pump is provided by a piston 22 which draws liquid from the pump casing and is driven by the swash plate 4. A spring-loaded relief valve 26 is also provided. A bleed hole 28 in one of the cylinders maintains the flow through the conduit 19 in the no-load condition. Specification 820,417 is referred to.
