Abstract
1,119,959. Swash-plate pumps. KUO TSAI. June 30, 1967, No. 30403/67. Heading F1A. An axial piston oil pump has automatic adjustment of its pressure and volume output according to load, so as to present a substantially constant load to its driving motor, and comprises pistons 11, 11a reciprocated by a rotating swash-plate 10, one or more pistons 11a having by-pass passages 13 controlled by sleeves 28 on a plate 22 axially adjustable by a piston 19 subjected to the pump outlet pressure and to an adjustable spring 23, so that over a pressure range set by the loading of spring 23, the output of pistons 11a is reduced from maximum to zero; above this pressure range a further control piston 32 is operated by the outlet pressure against spring 34 to throttle the pump inlet by valve 33 and to by-pass the pump delivery through passages 30, 36 and 6 to a reservoir. The pump inlet 4 and cylinder inlets 29 communicate with the pump casing interior 14, and the cylinder outlets communicate through valves 16 with a common delivery chamber 17 and outlet 5. Delivery chamber 17 communicates with control pistons 19 and 32 via passages 18 and 30.
