Abstract

594,852. Radial reciprocating pumps. WATSON, C. D. July 2, 1945. No. 16817. [Class 102 (i)] In a radial revolving cylinder reciprocating pump, delivery from each cylinder 4 takes place during unequal portions of the two halves of the cycle during which the pistons 14 are forced inwardly in the cylinder, thus imparting a resultant reactive thrust tending to reduce or increase the eccentricity of the slide or thrust ring 7, according to the angular setting of the centrally disposed block 6 in. which are formed the diametrically opposed passages 16, 17 that communicate through the port spaces 18 with the cylinders 4, and serve as inlet or outlet ducts dependent upon the eccentricity of the slide 7. The slide 7 has two flattened surfaces 2, 2a in contact with the thrust faces 8, 8a and. is adjustable by the control rod 9.
