Abstract

990,695. Fuel injection pumps. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Oct. 10, 1962 [Oct. 28, 1961], No. 38354/62. Heading F1A. A fuel injection pump has two reciprocating members 12, 13 which are fitted one within the other in a rotary pump body driven by a shaft 3 and are reciprocated by a stationary cam ring 9 acting on rollers 7. A pump working chamber 15 is formed in the member 13 which chamber communicates with a radial bore 17 and a bore 16. Fuel is supplied under pressure to an inlet opening 26 and enters the chamber 15 via one of four bores 24, bore 22, an annular groove 20 and the bore 17. Fuel under pressure passes through a distributing bore 27 to outlet passageways 28. Injection terminates when an annular groove 19 in the member 12 is in alignment with bores 33 which communicate with an annular groove 34 in the member 13. Fuel is returned to the tank 41 through bores 35, 37 and a pipe 44.
