Abstract

1478614 Fluid-pressure servo-motor systems CAV Ltd Z2 Aug 1974 [30 Aug 1973] 40871/73 Heading G3P [Also in Division F1] In a rotary distributer fuel injection pump having a cam (17) movable to alter the injection timing in response to the pressure established in a by-pass 32 by the position of a throttle member 30 controlling the quantity of fuel supplied to the pumping chamber, the throttle member 30 has a first groove 31 connected to a feed pump and a second groove 33 connected to drain, the grooves 31, 33 being arranged selectively to communicate with the by-pass 32 through respective restricted passages 53, 54 before direct communication is established. The restricted passages are in the form of triangular recesses, each recess being in communication with its respective groove or with one side of the entrance to the by-pass 32. In order to facilitate production the entrance to the by-pass and its associated recesses may be formed in a sleeve 40.
