In a fuel injection pump of the type in which an annular cam 13 is angularly adjustable by means of a plunger 23 subjected to the pressure of a pump feeding the injection pump under the control of a manually or governor actuated throttle 19, a groove 29 is provided on the throttle which connects the plunge cylinder to drain when the throttle is adjusted to the full rate position.
