Abstract
In a fuel injection pump of the type in which the piston has a helical control edge 3 co-operating with a low pressure part 4 and is rotatably adjustable to vary the delivery, the piston has a leakage collecting groove 7 connected by an internal passage 8 to a part 9 extended by a groove 10 in the surface of the piston and arranged to communicate during at least part of the piston stroke with a further low pressure part 5.
