Class 102(1) In a fuel-injection pump in which the plunger has a control edge 2 co-operating with a port 4 in the cylinder wall to determine the cessation of the injection, the head of the plunger. has a groove bounded by control surfaces formed as two inclined surfaces 1a, 1c, with a peak 1b, between them, to determine the beginning of injection. The pump is for use in turbo-charged internal combustion engines and results in the beginning of injection being advanced between no-load and an intermediate load and retarded between the intermediate load and full load to obtain a higher maximum pressure in the engine cylinders over the load range.
