Abstract

1515288 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems CAV Ltd 11 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 32019/74 Heading G3P The timing of a fuel injection apparatus is adjusted by a member 19 subjected to fluidpressure 26 in accordance with the square of engine speed, the fluid-pressure also acting on a valve 29 controlling a piston 21 to vary the effect of resilient loading on the valve. The member 19 controls the application of fluid pressure to and determines the position of a piston 17 connected to a cam ring 13 of the injection pump. A feed pump 14 and a valve 26 produce the fluid-pressure which acts through ports 33, 34 in the valve 29 on the piston 21 until it has reached a sufficient value to displace the valve 29 against a spring 30 and place the space below the piston 21 into communication with a drain through ports 34, 32. Further displacement of the valve 29 brings ports 31, 34 into register to again apply fluid-pressure to the piston 21.
