A rotating and reciprocating piston 2 distributes liquid to valved outlets 4 by means of a groove 7 and controls the suction port 3 by means of grooves 8 connected to the piston head by passages 10, 11. The arrangement is such that the relevant outlet 4 communicates with both the pump chamber and the inlet 3 before delivery commences and that the inlet 3 is closed before delivery commences.
