Abstract

970,729. Fuel injection pumps. SOC. ANON. POUR L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES CHIMIQUES ET PHYSIQUES. May 3, 1961 [May 11, 1960], No. 16069/61. Heading F1A. In a fuel injection pump as described in Specifications 861,754 and 904,518 a mechanically driven valve 10 is provided in series with the check valve 20 in the conduit 13 through which flows the liquid producing the outward strokes of the shuttle member 7. The valve 10 comprises axial grooves 25 which register with inlets 12 on the downward stroke of the pump piston 2 and with the conduit 13 on the upward stroke by rotating the piston. In an alternative form, the conduit 13 communicates with grooves in the piston 2.
