Abstract

677,538. Radial-cylinder pumps. SMITH'S JACKING SYSTEMS, Ltd. May 16, 1950 [July 29, 1949], No. 19984/49. Class 102 (i) In a radial-cylinder pump, the cylinders 20 are in the form of sleeves, with enlarged heads 22, that are inserted in the body part 1 and clamped by plugs 28. The pistons 7 control inlet ports 30 and the delivery valves 33 are located in recesses 31 in the heads 22 and communicate to delivery passages 49 through slots 36 ; packing rings 37 and 39 are provided. A body part 2 is secured by a flange 4 to the body part 1 and enters a recess 3 and has a groove 42 that aligns with a groove 43 in the body part 1 to form a delivery manifold in communication with the passages 49 and the outlet 50 ; packing rings 45, 46 are provided on each side of the grooves 42, 43. One or more cylinders may have individual outlets through the plugs 28.
