Abstract

1,259,167. Reciprocating pumps. V. LANGEN [trading as LANGEN & CO], Feb. 3, 1969 [Feb. 3, 1968], No.5673/69. Heading F1A. In a reciprocating piston pump a piston 63 is movable in a sleeve 65 which sleeve is movable in a chamber 66 by the action of delivery pressure and so displaced as to restrict uncovering of the intake ports 76 and thus the delivery rate is reduced when the pressure rises. As shown, the ports are in the piston. Alternatively, the ports may be in the sleeve.
