Abstract

1,227,560. Reciprocating motors. H. W. KOPPERN and H. K. SCHAFER [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERN & CO. K.G.] July 19, 1968 [July 20, 1967], No.34440/68. Headings F1A and F1M. The working piston 2 of a hydraulic motor for a vibrator is mounted on a spring-biased ported valve sleeve 18 in which a valve piston 20 is periodically moved axially by a revolving cam 62. To control movement of the piston 2 control edges 30, 38 on the valve piston delimit an annular chamber 40 and co-operate with ports 28, 36 in the valve sleeve 18 leading respectively to an inlet 24 and an annular groove 34 communicating with an outlet 32. When the valve piston 20 moves to the left, the port 28 is uncovered by the control edge 30 and hydraulic fluid passes into the piston chamber 48 via annular chamber 40 and a passage 46 to drive the piston 2 to the left. When the valve piston reaches the end of its stroke and moves to the right, the port 36 is ultimately uncovered by the control edge 38 and the fluid in the chamber 48 exhausts through outlet 32 via passage 46, annular chamber 40, port 36 and annular groove 34. The piston 2 then likewise moves to the right, the movement being aided by fluid passing into chamber 12 through inlet 14. The fluid inlets 14, 24 from part of a fluid circuit connected to a source 64, the inlet 14 being at the lower pressure due to the pressure reducing valve 74. The valve piston 20 is axially adjustable by means of a pin 54 that screws into the end 22
