706,238. Internal shoe drum brakes. TEVES, A., TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMMANDIT-GES., A.]. April 30, 1952 [May 11, 1951], No. 10908/52. Class 103(1) An internal shoe drum brake, particularly for motor rollers, has servo-shoes 4, 7 applied by a uni-directionally acting cylinder 2, the piston guide of which is specially lengthened since the force exerted has to be sufficient to apply both shoes to the drum. Force from the primary shoe 4 is transmitted to the secondary shoe 7 through a transmission pin 5 movably mounted in a U-shaped block secured to the brake shield, a spring 11 acting through washer 10 on collar 9 acting to centre the shoes. A mechanically operated cam 14 acting directly on the lining carrier 15 of shoe 4 provides independent hand operation as for parking purposes.
