Abstract

226,702. Fowler & Co. (Leeds), Ltd., J., and Lewin, W. J. Feb. 15, 1924. Blocks and shoes acting on drums.- A brake for motor vehicles comprises a pair ot shoes 1, 2 jointly pivoted on a pin 3 lying on one side of the axis of the brake drum 5, and both operated simultaneously by either of two cams 6, 7. The cam 7 is mounted on a shaft 8 and the cam 6 is carried on a sleeve 10 surrounding the shaft 8. The shaft 8 and the sleeve 10, respectively, terminate in levers 9, 11 which may be actuated by hand or power.
