Abstract
230,524. Quince, A. R. Nov. 16, 1923. Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of transmission ge,ar in conjunction with.-In a braking arrangement for the front wheels of a vehicle, the brake shoes 5 are arranged to be forced against the brake drum 3 by a conical cam 13 which is slidably and rotatably mounted on one end of the pivot pin 7. The braking force is applied to the cam by the forked end 15 of a pivoted lever and a ball race may be interposed. The brake shoes pivot at their upper ends on a pin 6 on the pivot pin 7, or on a pin mounted in a bracket clamped to the pin 7. Compensating means are arranged between the actuating lever and the front-wheel brakes.
