Abstract

412,355. Brakes. AKTIESELSKABET FISKER & NIELSEN, and FISKER, P. A., 30, Peter Bangsvej, Copenhagen. March 13, 1933, No. 7639. [Class 103 (i).] An internal shoe brake, particularly for motorcycles, comprises one or more shoes 11 U-shaped in cross-section, pivoted at 9 on a fixed plate 3 and applied to the drum 2 by the engagement of cams 17 on a hub 16 pivoted on the axle 5, with rollers 15 carried by the shoes ; the rollers being disposed centrally between the ends of the brake surfaces of the shoes. The hub 16 is provided with an operating lever 18. As shown by the broken lines at 171 the cams may be arranged to turn in the reverse direction to apply the brake and may have a plane surface. The rollers may be carried by the member 16 and the cam surfaces be formed on the shoes. The rollers may be replaced by balls. As applied to a motor-cycle the fixed plate 3 may be anchored to the wheel fork by a screw.
