468,071. Drum brakes. DAY, J. Jan. 3, 1936, No. 218. [Class 103 (i)l A pair of brake shoes 4 are adapted to be moved bodily, guided by pins 5, to engage the brake drum 1 by toggles 7 connected to the shoe ends and having their joints 8 connected by links 9 to a yoke 10 guided for diametral movement by fixed lugs 11. The yoke may be moved to apply the brake by a lever 13 pivoted on the exterior of the back plate of the brake and engaging a pin 14 on the yoke, the pin projecting through a slot in the plate. The links 9 permit the toggles to swing laterally to compensate for uneven wear of the shoes.
