Abstract

198,059. Williams, J. Feb. 24, 1922. Blocks and shoes.- To avoid the necessity of drilling a brake block for attaching it to the hanger or lever, it is provided with a web h which is inserted in a recess in the hanger or lever c<1>, c<2>, the web being provided with recesses i with which engage pins j<1>, j<2> passing through the hanger. As shown, the hanger comprises a pair of bars c<1>, c<2>, the bar c<1> being shown as broken away in the lower part of the Figure. The pin j<2> is permanently fixed to the hanger as by rivetting, and may have a bush j<3>, but the pin j<1> is detachable and is held in position by a pivoted plate k.
