Abstract

248,203. Fornaca, G. April 16, 1925. Blocks and shoes acting on drums.-In a brake of the expanding-shoe type, the shoes 1, 2 bear freely at one end against a fixed pivot 10, and a cam 5, or other operating member, adapted to open the shoes is carried bv one of them. As shown, the cam 5 is carried by the shoe 1 and is secured to one end of a pin journaled in a support integral with the shoe 1 and provided at its other end with an operating lever 7. The brake is equally effective for both directions of rotation of the drum 4.
