Brake mechanism. - In a rim brake of the type in which the blocks E are mounted on levers B pivoted at C' to clips C fixed to the forks D and are actuated by levers at A<2>, the levers B are arranged behind and adjacent to the ends of the stirrup so that the latter takes part of the braking strain. The stirrup may be formed in two parts hinged together, a spring being provided to withdraw the blocks from the rim. Specification 17909/01 is referred to.
