614,853. Brake operating mechanism. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. Aug. 6, 1946, No. 23334. Convention date, June 21, 1945. [Class 103 (i)] Brake-operating mechanism comprises a pair of levers 7, 8 mounted with play on pivots 11, 12 and engaging the brake shoes 2 through ' push-rods 9, 10. The levers are operated by a pair of pistons 5, 6 in a cylinder 3 mounted on the exterior of the back plate 4. The levers bear on each other at the middle part during an application so that there is no reaction on the pivots 11, 12. The bearing faces of the levers may comprise ball-races.
