Abstract

546,055. Hydraulic vehicle brakes. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and PARNELL, F. G. Jan. 3, 1941, No. 117. [Class 103 (i)] A hydraulic wheel cylinder is provided with mechanical means for spreading the shoes, a plunger slidably mounted in the cylinder being moved by a lever, cam, or wedge &c. independently of the fluid pressure means. The cylinder 10 with piston 12 has a plunger 13 moved outwardly to actuate the shoe 15 by a lever 21 pivoted in the cylinder, which is movable on the back-plate and actuates the shoe 14. The piston 12 and plunger 13 are slotted to receive the operating end 18 of the lever 21.
