In a dual hydraulic braking system in which two separate master cylinders 11, 12 are operated simultaneously by means of a pedal 27 and lever 26 acting on an intermediate point of a balance beam 23 pivotally connected at its ends to operating rods 24 working through spaced openings in a partition 20, the beam 23 has a fulcrum in the form of a projection 32 which engages the partition 20 when cylinder 11 fails so that the pressure applied to cylinder 12 is increased.
