951,906. Hydraulic brakes; disc brakes. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATURENFABRIK, KOMM.-GES.]. Nov. 22, 1962 [Nov. 22, 1961], No. 44191/62. Headings F2E and F2F. In an hydraulic brake particularly for motor vehicles the wheel brake cylinder 15, Fig. 2, contains two working chambers 17, 18, each being connected to a separate pressure line from a master cylinder and each containing a piston 19, 20. The latter are so interconnected either hydraulically or mechanically (as shown in the disc brake of Fig. 2) that their actuating forces are additive. In another embodiment the pistons are spaced apart and are positively interconnected by a piston rod which extends through a partition. In a further embodiment a piston is guided in a cylinder by means of a neck portion extending into an annular recess in the cylinder casing, the end face of the neck portion and the end face of the piston recess co-operating with the cylinder casing to define the working chambers. In a still further embodiment, Fig. 4, the pistons 35, 36 nest one within another and co-operate with one another and with the cylinder casing 34 to define an annular working chamber 40 and a cylindrical working chamber 39.
