Abstract

681.025. Drying-apparatus. TEMPLEWOOD ENGINEERING CO.. Ltd. Jan. 9.1951 [March 15, 1950], No. 652/50. Class 34 (ii) [Also in Groups J. XXIV and XXX] Apparatus for drying grass &c. has a casing 1 having therein an endless perforated conveyer 2 with tines 2A and perforated plating 4 confining the grass which is transported between the plating 4 and the conveyer while air heated by an oil burner is discharged by a fan 9 through the plating and conveyer to dry the grass, some moisture laden air escaping from a stack 8 and the remainder being recirculated. The material is loaded from a conveyer 10 by a spinner 5 and when dried discharged by a spinner 6 to another conveyer or it may be discharged to a pneumatic conveyer and thence to a hammer mill. The material to be dried is deposited on the conveyer 10 by a mechanical trailer 15 hitched to a tractor 16 and having conveyers 17, 18, and which can be backed over the conveyer 10. The hot air has a temperature of 300‹F., a velocity up to 5 feet per second and a pressure of up to one inch water gauge. Specification 511,842 is referred to.
