Abstract

296,221. Clarke, T., and Davidson &. Co., Ltd. Oct. 29, 1927. Feeding-devices for endless-belt conveyers. - Maize, tea, &c. to be dried is fed through a shoot 2 and distributed over an endless-band conveyer 1 in the drying chamber by air jets issuing from openings 9, 10 in nozzles 5, 6 in a box 3 into which air is forced by a pump 4. The material is levelled on.the conveyer by a rotary blade 8 having serrated edges. In a modification, two shoots and nozzles 5 are provided, the nozzles 6 being dispensed with. Specifications .2046/92, 22341/94, 16719/97, 15325/06, and 9156/07, [all in Class 34, Drying], are referred to.
