Abstract

671,637. Textile drafting apparatus; traverse mechanism. AMBLER SUPERDRAFT, Ltd. Oct. 30, 1948 [Nov. 7, 1947], No. 29680/47. Class 120(ii) An intermediate unit for the drafting apparatus described in Specification 671,633 is detachably mounted on a saddle member 32. which is slidably mounted for movement in a direction transverse to the roving and is reciprocated so as to traverse the intermediate unit bodily. The intermediate unit includes a roving guide 14. intermediate rollers and a channel-shaped member mounted on a framework 26 which rests on a bearing member 28, forming a part of the main drafting apparatus and being secured to a support 29. The intermediate unit is attached to supports 31 of the saddle member 32 by means of pins 33 held in leaf-spring members 34. Several saddle members 32 may be mounted in series on extensions 37 of the bearing member 28 by means of rods 38, 39 slidable in the extensions 37. The saddles 32 are traversed by the rod 39, to which is secured, by brackets 42, a traversing frame 43 carrying rods 46, 47 having flanged cam rollers 48 in engagement with a cam 52. Rod 47 is spring-loaded. Specification 671,643 also is referred to.
