Abstract

745,615. Fibre drafting apparatus. T.M.M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. Dec. 21, 1954 [Dec. 21, 1953], No. 35486/53. Class 120 (2). A drafting-apparatus for a spinning-machine includes a top singleapron unit A and a double-apron unit B. The unit A is as described in Specification 694,817 and the unit B is preferably similar to that of Specification 718,926. Where very high drafts are required, feed rollers 10, 11 are also employed. The top aprons may be carried by driving rollers 1 mounted in pairs on common arbors supported by a central support arm and tensors 2 arranged in pairs on a holder 6 that rests on a sleeve 5 through which spring- loading is exerted on the rollers 1. A leaf-spring 8 fixed on the holder 6 imparts a light downward pressure to the nose of the apron 3. The tensor C2 of the lower apron is provided with an arcuate upper surface.
