505,457. Drawing-apparatus for spinning &c. frames. LOUIE, B. L. Feb. 17, 1938, No. 4745. [Class 120 (ii)] In drawing-apparatus in which upper and lower bands engaged by the middle rollers are provided with tensors at their forward ends, the tensors 13, 14 are carried in slots 12 in the bearing block 8a of the front roller, and the upper one is resiliently mounted by the engage. ment of a spring 32 secured to the front saddle 24, so as to apply a yielding pressure to the sliver or roving. The slots 12 are inclined as shown so that the pressure of the spring tends to tighten the belts. The upper tensor 13 is shaped as shown in Figs. 5 and 7, guidance for the belts being afforded by slots 17, 17a, and, if desired; by depending prongs 19 and projections 34. The lower tensor is in the form of a flat bar the end bearing-pieces being stepped so as to support the upper tensor and to provide a gap between them for the passage of the belts. The saddle 24 carries the pivoted weight-hook 26 and engages a saddle 25 for the middle and back rollers. The two front bearing-blocks are adjustably mounted on a rod 8c carried by the rear bearing-block which is carried by a pivoted arm, whereby the whole cap bar may be swang upwardly.
