Abstract

287,993. Fine Cotton Spinners' & Doublers' Association, Ltd., and Bunting, J. T. Feb. 1, 1027. Rollers, clearing. -In reciprocating clearer flats for the top rollers of slubbing, intermediate, and roving frames which are operated by rocking levers behind the roller stands, a separate reciprocating driving- bar D is mounted above each roller stand and is provided with lugs d, Fig. 5, to engage notches in reversible detachable clearer flats E, and the bars are operated by levers G on a rocking shaft F. The clearer flats may be such as described in Specification 257,101, and are fitted with a roller H<1> to collect any fringe of waste adhering to the flat. Each bar is provided with a recess or bearing for the roller H<1>, and with a groove which engages an adjustable pin b<2> on the cap of the front roller. The lever G may be provided with extensions G<1> carrying springs k, the ends k<1>, k<2> of which respectively support the underclearer K and rest upon the beam.
