350,872. Drawing-rollers for preparing and spinning machines. MEYNELL, H., Perseverance Works, Accrington. Nov. 4, 1930, No. 33098. [Class 120 (ii).] A top roller having the same combing effect on the fibres as a circumferentially grooved roller comprises thin metal or like discs 9 strung upon an arbor and resiliently held in place by springs 8, 11, the fibres tending to travel between the discs and thereby, in effect, forming their own grooves. Ferrules 7 encase the springs 8, and nuts 12, 13 encasing the springs 11 enable the pressure between the discs to be adjusted. The discs may be freely mounted on the arbors to permit of relative rotation, or may be splined thereon.
