691,615. Drawing apparatus. VERE I N I G T E KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. Sept. 7, 1950, No. 22037/50. Class 120(ii) A drawing system in which the top rolls of a break draft field are carried by a saddle provided with clearer holders has the saddle and clearer holder arranged to be replaceable and the distance apart of the top rolls, the position of application of a weight on the saddle and the positions of the clearer holders unalterably fixed and non-adjustable. As shown, a sheet-metal strap 4 of inverted U-shape cross-section forms the saddle for the top rolls 1 and 2 and has a cross-bolt 7 on which rests the saddle rod 8 through which by means of a weighting rod 6 loading is applied to the top rolls. The rod 8 is adjustably and releasably secured to the saddle 4 by means of a screw 5. Clearer holders 13 and 14 are provided in fixed relationship to the roll positions. Several saddles having different roll positions and corresponding clearer and weight-applying positions are provided, for different drawing requirements and alternative roll positions &c. may be provided in one saddle. The saddle is made efficiently flexible to permit the rolls to take up their proper working positions.
