1,170,278. Doffing textile spindles. DEUTSCHER SPINNEREIMASCHINENBAU INGOLSTADT NIEDERLASSUNG DER SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 16 Nov., 1966 [19 Nov., 1965], No. 51335/66. Heading D1D. In apparatus for removing and replacing the bobbins on a multi-spindle frame the vertical bobbin lifting movement of a bobbin clamp 7 and gripper 8 is combined with a horizontal movement away from the spindlse so that the delivery rollers or attachments thereto are not fouled. As shown clamp 7 has members 27, 28 pivotted thereto and pivoted to a support 2 at 22, 23. Member 27 which forms a crank member is attached to a vertically movable rod 91 lying within a vertically movable tube 11 on which support 2 is mounted. Tube 11 is vertically moved by a crank arrangement 13, 14, 15, 16 while rod 91 is moved in phase with tube 11 but with a different amplitude by a second crank pin 6 on the crank 15, the pin carrying a block 61 which slides in a guide 9 fast with rod 91. By choosing the shape of guide 9 and the correct ratio of crank arm ratios the desired lifting and withdrawing motion of gripping element 8 is obtained. In a further form movement of rod 91 operates an eccentric or wedge to horizontally displace the clamp 7 on a slide while tube 11 provides the vertical motion.
