837,800. Winding reserve lengths of yarn. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDE UNIE N.V. July 14, 1958 [July 20, 1957], No. 22489/58. Class 120(2) In a ring twisting machine a ring holder 9 is fixed to a tube 11, which is mounted with lateral clearance on rods 12 fixed to a traversing beam 13, so that the holder 9 rests stationary while initial lengths of yarn are wound on an auxiliary surface 5 below the spool 3 and is reciprocated when locked to the beam 13 by means of a releasable catch 17, the sleeve 11 being simultaneously moved into engagement with the rods 12. The holder 9 is mounted on a member 10 which rests on a support 31 on a level with the surface 5 when the catch 17 is disengaged from a hook 21 fixed to the member 10. A clamping plate 23 is supported on one side by a lip 22 of the beam 13 and on the other is spring- urged against limit stops 25 on guiding pins 24. When the holder 9 is locked to the beam 13, the edge of the plate 23 cooperates with a surface 28 on the holder 10 and moves it to the right thus pressing the sleeve 11 against the rods 12.
