Abstract

983,880. Centrifugal spinning &c. devices. E. NEGISHI. May 18,1962 [May 30,1961], No. 19365/62. Heading D1D. Yarn ends in a centrifugal spinning or like machine are severed prior to doffing by relative movement between a reciprocatory yarn guide tube provided at its lower end with a cutting sleeve and a bobbin support tube having an inclined slot and associated knife edge. A cutter sleeve 23 with a blade 9 at its outside bottom circumference is tightly fitted on to a reduced lower part 24 of the yarn guide tube 8 which is freely slidable in bobbin supporting tube 3 so that, when the latter is moved to its lowest position to initiate winding from the cake 14 to the bobbin 13, the tube 3 is moved beyond the tube 8 because the latter is withheld by contact of legs 15 with stationary flanges 17. The relative retraction of the sleeve 23 with tube 3 allows yarn to enter slot 6 and, when winding is completed, relative movement in the opposite direction results in yarn severance.
