Abstract
655,250. Lamp-holders. CONCORDIA ELECTRIC SAFETY LAMP CO., Ltd., and CORNISH, J. P. Nov. 13, 1946, No. 33682. [Class 38 (i)] A lamp body B comprises all insulating sheath 10 to which are secured 'a lightprojecting head A and a carrying harness C, the sheath being provided with terminals 13 which are received in depressions 14 and enclosed by a movable insulating cover 16. In the head A a reflector 1 is secured to a ring 6 into which is screwed a metal plug 8 threaded internally for the bulb 5. The plug 8 also screws into the sheath 10 which carries a plug 12 movable against the bulb centre contact. Set screws 9, 17 normally retain the ring 6 and the cover 16 in position. To use the arrangement for removing the lamp head A to service the terminals, the aperture 18 for the screw 17 may be extended to allow the cover 16 to be rotated to expose the terminals through apertures in the cover. Current is supplied to leads 15 from a battery in an insulating case 30 by a strip contact 40, 41, 42, which is engaged by a spring-loaded screw-switch 43, and a central contact 37. To use the arrangement as a standing lamp, the body B is inserted in a clip 51 pivoted on a spring clip 50 snapped on the container.
