Abstract
407,198. Mouth &c. examination lamps. EDEY, G. R., 154, High Street, Bromley, Kent. March 20, 1933, No. 8337. [Class 81 (ii).] A lamp for use in examining the mouth and antrum comprises a tapered ebonite or other insulating handle A, Fig. 1, centrally bored to receive leads B, one of which contacts with a switch point E, the other being connected to a central lamp electrode C having a spring D. The lamp K, which is preferably of the pocket lamp type, is screwed into a socket F itself screwed on to the handle A. The socket F carries a screw socket H receiving the stem of a mirror J, the stem being locked in position as by a grub screw, and a reflector G having an extension G<1> extending over and adapted to be pressed into contact with the switch point E. The leads B may be connected to the mains through a resistance, or to a battery L, Fig. 3, enclosed in a box M having a sliding back N, a strap R, a clip P to receive the lamp when in use, and clips O mounted on bobbins Q for receiving the lamp during transport and supporting the leads wound thereon respectively.
