Abstract

566,242. Battery lamps. WARNE, J., and GARSIDE, F. April 6, 1943, No. 5456. [Class 39 (ii)] A torch comprises a wound helix A of two diameters, the larger part of which fits over the top of a battery and is attached to a U-shaped strip B that passes under the battery. The small upper end of the helix A receives the bulb and may be fitted with a shade or reflector consisting of a flared helix C, between the upper convolutions of which a strip of glass, paper, celluloid, &c. may be sprung. A protuberance E pressed out from the strip or formed by a spot of solder, acts as a switch contact, being pressed into engagement with a bared area of the side of a battery constructed as described in Specification 566,241, [Group XXXVI].
