Abstract
372,140. Holders for electric incandescent lamps. THIMBLETHORPE, W. S., 42, Jermyn Street, Piccadilly, London. June 23, 1931, No. 18195. [Class 39 (ii).] A U-shaped metal spring clip 12, Fig. 1, is inserted in a hole in a plate or the like 5 and grips a lamp cap 8, the limbs 13 of the clip having abutments 14, 15 to prevent play in the hole. The hole may be circular, with slots to receive the limbs 13 and further slots to allow passage of the lugs 10 of the cap. Fig. 4 shows a modification of the abutments 15. Contact is established by a screw 17 insulated by washers 19 from the clip and carrying a thimble 16 with a hole in it to receive the lead, and a spring 18, or lock-nut. In a modified form of contact, Fig. 6, an insulated tube 22 passes through an opening 21 in the clip. The bared end of the lead 24 is passed through this tube, and its knotted end rests on a shoulder 25, the lamp contact being pressed against this end.
