479,417. Mechanical switches without quick action. ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK SCHMIDT & CO., GES. June 29, 1937, Nos. 18057 and 18058. Convention dates, June 30, 1936 and Feb. 26, 1937. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XI] A switch for an electric torch comprises a metal loop 8 pivoted in the metal casing 2 and having ar inwardly directed part 9 which, or turning the loop about its pivot engages a metal contact cup 1( mounted on an insulating disc 11 and connected electrically bv a spring 12 to one pole of a battery 19, the other pole of which is connected to the centre pole of a lamp 7 having its other pole connected to the casing. A U-shaped struckup part 13 of the casing provides a recess for holding the loop 8 in the inoperative position shown. In a modification, two recesses are provided for holding the loop in its two operative positions and a projection on the end of the casing also holds the loop in the inoperative position.
