Abstract
457,264. Electric battery lamps. ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK SCHMIDT & CO., GES., Podmokly, Czecho Slovakia. July 16, 1936, Nos. 19762 and 19763. Convention dates, July 16, 1935 and Sept. 30, 1935. [Class 39 (ii)] In an electric pocket torch of tubular form, of the kind provided with a pocket clip which forms a switching member, the pocket clip 3 forms part of a spring strip which is secured at its mid-portion 11 to a removable cap 2 on the upper end of the torch, the other end 5 of the strip being offset at 6 to extend through a slot in the cap 2 so that it can be depressed into contact with a metal contact member 8 within the casing. The member 8 is mounted upon an insulating disc 7 and connected to the adjacent pole of one of the cells by a compressed helical spring 9. The resilient portions 3, 5 forming the clip and switch are spaced from the side of the cap and extend parallel thereto. Accidental depression of the switch 5 may be prevented by the provision of a locking-member 14 comprising an arcuate metal strip slidable longitudinally upon the end cap and provided at its upper edge with a recess which can be aligned to form a stop for lateral shoulders adjacent to the end 6 of the switch member 5. A lug 15 on the locking member 14 engages within a longitudinal guiding slot in the casing.
