Abstract

464,142. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CONCHIE, J. R., and QUANCE, F. G. Oct. 31, 1935, No. 30083. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp 14 with lateral contacts 7 comprises a spring clip 6 reinforced by an external spring 8 and engaging recesses 10 in the contact 7. The lamp is locked in the clip by clamping screws 15, engaging the clip and operable from the exterior of the holder and made of insulating material. The clip need not carry current as a leaf spring 12 engaging the end of the contact 7 may be provided connected to a separate terminal. The clip is elongated to allow some longitudinal variation in position of the contact 7, limited by lugs 9. The body 2 of the holder has end flanges 4 with thin portions for breaking away to form cable inlets.
