Abstract

503,544. Two-part couplings. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and TUPPEN, E. B. Oct. 9, 1937, No. 27479. [Class 38 (i)) A screw - socket lampholder having the socket 1 slit and reinforced by a helical spring 4 that lies in the external trough of the screw-thread, is provided with means to prevent the spring from working off the socket consisting of an angle 6 bent up from the edge of one of the slits 3 in line with the end of the spring. The socket is mounted in, an insulating body 6 and provided with a terminal 9 constructed to receive a wire in either a longitudinal or transverse direction. A similar terminal is formed on the centre plunger contact 7 so that no current passes through the spring 8.
