Abstract
412,077. Electric-lamp holders. MOULDED PRODUCTS, Ltd., and SANDERS, E. A., 1146, Chester Road, Tyburn, Birmingham. Oct. 2, 1933, No. 26993. [Classes 39 (ii) and 75 (iii).] An electric lamp holder comprises a bracket 1 provided with a hollow arm 2 formed at its projecting end with a vertical passage 3 adapted to receive on one side a lamp socket 4 with a pair of contact plungers 5 connected to conductors 12 extending through the hollow arm, and on the other side a closing-cap 6 to which the insulating body of the lamp socket is secured by screws 7, the arrangement being such that the plug can be arranged at either end of the opening 3 to alter the direction in which the lamp projects. The plungers 5 are pressed downwardly by U-shaped leaf-springs 20, which do not carry current, and are preferably slotted to engage a central pin on the plunger, the other ends of the springs being offset to engage within recesss 29 in the cap 6. The conductors 12 are formed separately from the springs 20 and connected to split terminal-pins 13 to engage sockets 27 in a projecting part 28 of a wall bracket, so that the lamp-holder bracket 1 can be reversed readily relatively to the wall bracket. A switch may be disposed within an aperture 32, which is otherwise closed by a plug 30.
