[Class 38 (i)] A contact for use with co-axial conductors at high frequencies consists of a tubular member corrugated to form crests and troughs running axially of the tubular member. This contact co-operates with a conductor fitting inside or outside it, to form a disconnectible or adjustable connection. For making concentric connection to a thermionic valve 7, Fig. 4, the outer contact 10 is corrugated and fits over the terminal 8, the inner conductor 11 abutting against the central terminal 9. Instead of corrugating the tubular member itself, a corrugated cylindrical washer may be interposed between two plain cylindrical contacts. A closure for the end of a co-axial line, consists of two corrugated contacts 14, 15, Fig. 7, one fitting into the outer conductor and the other over the inner conductor, the two being joined by a tapering surface 13.
