Abstract

599,993. Hose end-fittings. CARLING, E. C. Sept. 27, 1945, No. 25082. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A hose end-fitting of the type described in Specifications 557,580 and 558,319 in which an external metal sleeve 1 is reduced in diameter to compress the hose 4 on to an internal tubular insert 2, is characterised by the fact that electrical continuity is maintained between the sleeve 1 and the metallic reinforcement 10 of the hose by means of one or more metal plugs 17 inserted in recesses formed for their reception in the hose ; the plugs are preferably cylindrical and are in intimate contact with the sleeve and the reinforcement when the former is reduced on to the hose ; 5 is a deformable metal washer.
